What is a simulation?
Simulation is the representation of a process (existing or planned) in a virtual, risk-free environment. It allows you to recreate and predict the behavior of a production or logistics system under selected conditions—for example, for different demand parameters or varying numbers of resources or employees in the process. Simulation facilitates process analysis, identification of elements requiring improvement, and/or testing potential optimization scenarios.
What is FlexSim?
FlexSim is software—an environment for building simulation models. It is not software similar to ERP/WMS/SAP systems, but rather a dedicated application tool. In the modern economy, such tools are increasingly essential for analyzing system performance and predicting the effects of decisions. FlexSim is probably the most versatile and powerful, yet easy-to-use, tool of this type available on the market.
Is FlexSim a tool created for education?
Although FlexSim is widely used in education (especially in academic environments), it is primarily a tool designed for commercial enterprises. The majority of users are businesses, including companies that are global leaders in their industries.
Does FlexSim offer educational licenses?
Yes. FlexSim offers special licenses that can be used for teaching purposes. Along with the license, instructors receive access to 25 hours of instructional videos, which also serve as ready-made teaching materials.
Additionally, licensed academic users become part of the FlexSim user community, inspired and supported by InterMarium. This opens opportunities for international cooperation and participation in potential projects using the FlexSim tool.
Jakie są typy licencji edukacyjnych?
Within educational licenses, we distinguish:
- Student license – a single license limited to 100 objects that can be used to build a simulation model, provided to students to support work on projects or course, engineering, master’s, or doctoral theses.
- Network (LAN) license – with any number of workstations (minimum 20) for use in classrooms or laboratories, managed via a license server.
- Standalone license (so-called professor license) – a single license that can operate independently of the local network.
I am a student. Can someone from InterMarium help me build a model for course credit?
We offer paid educational support in the form of the manual FlexSim 3D Simulation Modeling and Analysis Software and e-learning, which will facilitate your work. We do not provide free consultations or build models for students, especially for graded coursework, even on a paid basis.
